Tentang Saya (About Me)

I joined Chemical Engineering Department, Syiah Kuala University since 1992. I obtained PhD degree from School of Chemical Engineering, University of Birmingham (UK) in 1998. My current research focus on development of catalysts and reaction systems for direct conversion of oily biomass (palm fruit and algae) to biodiesel, monolithic multi-phase reactors, and biomass utilization. Application of microwave in the chemical reactions is also my great interest. I also involve in higher education quality assurance since I was appointed as board member of National Accreditation Agency for Higher Education 2006-2012. I have ever served some management post, i.e. Head of Chemical Engineering Department (2004-2008) and Dean of Engineering Faculty (2009-2013). Rightnow, my position is Head of the Office of Education Development and Quality Assurance, Syiah Kuala University (2016-2018).
